What is CBD?
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of many cannabinoid compounds found in the cannabis plant. CBD does not cause the psychoactive effects commonly contributed to the use of cannabis. This is because the "high" feeling people will experience when consuming cannabis is contributed to another component found in cannabis called (THC) which is absent in CBD products.
Health benefits of CBD
Studies show CBD has many health benefits ranging from treating neuropsychiatric disorders including epilepsy, anxiety, and schizophrenia, to treating more common problems such as sleep disorders, pain management and ADHD (attention deficit disorder) CBD is also commonly used by athletes to improve the rate of recovery between workouts as CBD has been shown to reduce inflammation in muscles and reduce pain in joints.
Best way to use CBD?
The best way to use CBD depends on your personal needs. There are many products you can use to consume CBD ranging from oils, creams edibles and flower (smokeable CBD cannabis) each have their own benefits. CBD edibles for example are very beneficial for people experiencing chronic pain as the medicinal effects such as pain and inflammation reduction last for several hours.
Is CBD legal?
Absolutely. From 2017 the UK has legalised CBD as "industrialised hemp" meaning the CBD products must contain less than 0.2% THC. You do not have to be 18 to buy or consume CBD.
How high a dosage should I take?
Again, depending on your personal needs will dictate how high a dosage you need to treat your condition. For someone with high levels of pain or discomfort a recommend dose can range from 50mg to 150mg although, we would not recommend exceeding 200mg of CBD in a 24 hour period.
